It is very tempting to just pick any insurance with the cheapest rate. You might not get in accident anyway, leave it all to fate.

Bu it does not pay to be fatalistic. No one can ever tell for sure what will happen. The best deal is not just the cheapest deal – it is what you get out of the money you are spending.

I hadn’t thought about this type of insurance in quite some time. Definitely a niche market, but nonetheless, always better safe than sorry.

Does anybody know if a non ownwer auto insurance coverage applies to rental cars as well?

Always use an independent insurance agent whenever you can. They will have the resources to quote you multiple lines of insurance, with multiple insurance carriers. And yes, sometimes, it is better to buy your home policy from one company, and you auto policy from another. Even for non-owner auto policies. At least with an independent agent, you know you have somebody that’s working for you.
